Deuteronomy 11:19 - "Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
Goal: To support Children's Church and Sunday School in the spiritual growth of our children, as well as promoting responsibility, good manners and self-control.
This ministry entails teaching our children on Wednesday nights from 7 to 8 p.m. Currently we are using curriculum that includes and animated Bible lesson presented in DVD format and taken from the Old and New Testaments. This is followed by an age appropriate activity designed to recap what was learned in the video.
The age group coincides with that of Sunday School and Sunday Morning Children's Church ages 3 - 12. The goal is to break the classes down into age groups 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, 9 and 10, 11 and 12 or by school grades pre-K - 1st, 2nd - 3rd, 4th - 5th, and 6th, 7th and 8th. We would like to keep each class to a maximum of 10 students.
As you can see, this type of vision and work takes people willing to give Christ to young people. We would love to have you as part of this ministry if God is leading you to serve in this area.
Qualifications of course include a passion from God for this type of work, a spirit filled heart and life and an interview with the pastor/Board of Elders/the current director of Wednesday Night Youth Ministries. |
